OVERVIEW:

Whether you’re shopping for a used Kitfox, considering a kit to build, or are ordering a custom factory-assist build – learning about and flying a Kitfox before you buy is a great place to start.

We would be happy to offer a sales demonstration flight – as your 1st Kitfox lesson.  Stick & Rudder Aviation can offer a “STi” (Rotax 915is) & Series 7 Super Sport (916is) powered versions.
Our demonstration environment, operational experience, Kitfox build knowledge, and diverse Idaho weather allows for a very informative, educational, and fun flying experience.

Within your lesson, you will receive preparatory ground instruction: on the history of the Kitfox design, along with an overview of the flight characteristics, and a review of tailwheel techniques.  You’ll then experience those flight characteristics and performance aspects as you are guided through the piloting of the Kitfox with your instructor; all within our rural uncontrolled-airspace environment.  Budget and time permitting, we’ll further explore the corners of the flight envelope, at multiple airstrips and in the varied terrain of our beautiful Idaho landscape.
If our immediate availability is limited, for your first Kitfox lesson–before placing your Kitfox order; there is another option.  We have partnered with “Next Level Tailwheel” a flight school located in the San Francisco Bay Area (PAO) – NextLevelTailwheel.com.  Next Level Tailwheel is a Kitfox-specific Tailwheel-only flight school; that operates a Kitfox Series 7 Super Sport (912isSport) AND a Kitfox STi (915is) version available–for a demonstration flight.

Based on our high demand to serve the Backcountry training needs of the Kitfox-specific community – we only offer sales Demonstration flights / 1st lessons with intent to purchase a Kitfox. We do not offer “for amusement” flights.
